Hear me out.
This is in hope that this could get to someone who can do something about it.
I am to turn 21 in 58 minutes. In my previous years of existence, Wes Anderson’s movies have become to mean something more to me than just a movie. They have become gospel.
I am in the sad predicament that I am slap bang in the middle of my final year exams at university. I however do wish that soon enough I will be able to see Moonrise Kingdom, a movie I have waited since Darjeeling Limited for (Mr Anderson’s last live action movie of course).
Another issue is the limited release it has. I can’t afford to pay for the ultra expensive Showcase Cinema and the Odeon in Leicester (where I am at Uni) isn’t showing it.
The Royal Tenenbaums is my favourite movie of all time. Every time I see a perfectly symmetrical shot, my heart skips and I think of how Mr Anderson would interpret the scene in front of me. I simply cannot wait until this is on DVD as a true lover of film, I know that nothing is ever as good as watching a movie for the first time in a cinema. It lives in the memory forever and nothing beats the butterflies you get when you see Quentin Thomas’ signature alongside the director’s on the screen as soon as the previews are over.
So please help this get around. I’m not asking for people to send me money (obviously not), just asking that this gets spread around so far that people notice that there are some fans that would do anything to see this movie but simply cannot, not at this time.
